MTB Fit

Overview

MTB Fitness approached us with the exciting challenge of designing a new visual identity for their fitness app, MTB Fit. We aimed to create a unique and memorable icon, setting it apart from the numerous other fitness brands that use generic gym equipment icons.

Inspired by the iconic sporting pictograms of the 1972 Munich Olympics designed by Gerhard Joksch and Otl Aicher, we developed a simple yet striking icon that perfectly represents the MTB Fit brand. The icon depicts the upper body of a mountain biker in a confident and controlled stance, with negative space cleverly incorporated to form a simple mountain shape.

This approach allowed us to create an icon that is visually appealing and versatile enough to work across various digital devices, including smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches. The icon's simplicity and legibility make it instantly recognisable, enhancing the brand's identity and making it more memorable to potential users.

We are delighted with the outcome of our collaboration with MTB Fitness, and we believe that the new branding and icon will help the brand stand out in a crowded market, attract more users, and ultimately achieve its business goals.

I contacted Paul from Bough to help me design a new logo for my new app, 'MTB Fit'—a fitness app for mountain bikers. With a large audience of 700,000+ mountain bikers on social media, this needed to be spot on. He came up with a great concept which I didn't need to change in any way—this was presented featuring various forms to visualise how it would look 'in real life'. He also nailed the brief of having it fit into my current branding. I can't recommend Bough highly enough.
